The home improvement retailer announced the acquisition on Wednesday (April 15). press releaseSaying that SIMPL uses advanced engineering and artificial intelligence technology to help distribution facilities operate faster and more efficiently.
Prior to the acquisition, the companies conducted a successful pilot at one of Home Depot’s distribution centers and found that SIMPL’s systems accelerated pick speed and cycle times, according to the release.
In addition, SIMPL has a patented storage and retrieval solution that helps maximize storage density. This solution will allow Home Depot to house a wider range of products closer to customers, increasing product availability and faster delivery.
