In the fintech space, Revolut has appointed Michael Schroeder, former chief risk officer and managing director of Europe at Coinbase, as global head of cryptocurrency expansion. Schroeder spent nearly three years at Coinbase, where he oversaw regulatory and risk operations across Europe.

His role will focus on licensing, regulatory readiness, operations and market launch. The appointment comes as companies across the sector continue to strengthen their regulatory and compliance capabilities, with Kraken recently appointing Andreas Roussos to lead its operations in Cyprus.

Scope Markets sees its third executive exit in a month
Meanwhile, GTCFX has appointed Manglai Manglai as Head of Trading Solutions. He joins from Scope Markets, part of Rostro Group, where he spent over six years in Cyprus in progressively more senior roles, most recently as Head of Trading Solutions from 2024.
The move marks the latest in a series of executive departures from the Scope brand. MAS Markets recently appointed Saul Knapp to the role of Chief Risk Officer, bringing him on from Scope Prime, where he served as Managing Director of Futures & Options and Group CRO.

Another executive move this week saw Marks Group appoint Alex Salomon to lead key services sales in Israel, marking the company’s first dedicated appointment on the ground in Tel Aviv. The move comes as the London-listed broker continues to expand its institutional business following its 2023 acquisition of Cowen’s flagship brokerage unit.

Salomon, based in Tel Aviv, will cover Israeli hedge funds, family offices, asset managers and other institutional clients. Gavin Shea joins Longbridge as CEO, South East Asia
Finally, Gavin Chia has joined AI-focused online brokerage Longbridge as Singapore and Regional CEO for Southeast Asia. He will oversee the company’s expansion across the region, where it operates under a capital markets services license from the Monetary Authority of Singapore.

Chia joins after a short stint of about eight months as head of IG’s Singapore business. Before joining IG, Chia was one of the founding members of Futu Singapore, which operates under the moomoo brand. He joined as Managing Director in 2020 and later became CEO of Moomoo Singapore in June 2023.
