Ripple’s partner, Japanese financial group SBI Holdings, has entered into a collaboration with artificial intelligence company Anthropic. The partnership aims to deploy the Claude AI platform across all SBI Group activities. Thus, it will become the first financial company to implement Claude AI technology company-wide in Japan.

The move will enable SBI Holdings to use AI across its banking, securities and insurance businesses. In addition, the company will use Cloud in the asset management, cryptocurrency and media sectors. Furthermore, the group also aims to look into creating new financial services powered by artificial intelligence.
As part of partnershipAnthropic will provide SBI with access to Claude’s latest features, new capabilities, security solutions, and expert engineering assistance. The two companies will also collaborate to develop AI agents dedicated to the financial services and cybersecurity sectors in Japan. Moreover, they will strictly adhere to Japan’s regulatory standards.
SBI Holdings Chairman and President Yoshitaka Kitao revealed the main reasons behind the partnership. “As Anthropic technology makes a global impact and AI performance evolves at an accelerated pace, SBI Group quickly set AI-driven initiatives as a strategic goal and advances the use of AI,” said Kitao.
He noted that security is always a major concern for financial institutions when it comes to implementing cutting-edge AI systems. Thus, Kitao concluded, “We are very pleased to have this opportunity to partner with a major player with world-leading technology and expertise.”
