In big XRP news today, Ripple voted in favor of an amendment to the XRP Ledger (XRPL) upgrade. The XRPL upgrade is also seeing quick responses from validators to update the nodes to the latest version that improves network cleanup, security, and developer experience.
XRP News: XRPL Ledger Upgrade Modification Receives Support from Ripple

Mod packs include bug fixes and improvements to individual asset vaults, lending protocol, permissioned DEX, multi-purpose tokens (MPTs), and permissioned domains.
It also retires several modifications that took effect over the course of two years, simplifying the XRP ledger for tokenization, decentralized finance, and other use cases.
According to the latest data, 26% of nodes have been updated to the latest version 3.2.0. However, 65% of them are still on version 3.1.3, while others are still on previous versions. Node adoption is progressing, as several prominent nodes like Ripple have already been updated with XRP Ledger 3.2.0.
Full activation requires sustained support of 80% of the virtual unique node list (dUNL) validators over a two-week period. Validators and operators must upgrade before full activation and avoid modification blocking.


Big changes in XRPL 3.2.0
As CoinGape previously reported, XRP Ledger has released the upgrade to version 3.2.0 Which introduces the new modification fixCleanup3_2_0. The main change visible in this release is the renaming of the primary server from rippled to xrpld.
XRP Ledger Operations has confirmed the steps to update to version 3.2.0. I asked the auditors to backup important files first and remove the old package to avoid data loss.
The upgrade is also set to reduce memory footprint by up to 40% and running costs for nodes amid enhanced scalability for tokenization and payments.

Meanwhile, some members of the XRP community have expressed concerns about network activity declining by nearly 50% in the past two weeks. Analyst Ali Martinez noted that active addresses dropped from 50,000 to around 25,000. However, experts claimed that the decline in network activity is normal amid successive XRP Ledger upgrades such as XRPL v3.1.3 upgrade Weeks ago.
