Walmart Market promotes increased general merchandise

Walmart has identified 300 brands it considers “essential” to its market, and the retailer has acquired about half of those brands, with 75 added over the past year.

“There could be a little bit of a corona effect with some of these brands as well,” Rennie said. “When you start adding up apple Products, then perhaps another product will follow because of the perception that matches that.

Rennie said sellers realize that Walmart “has changed a little bit in the last few years” and are seeing the company gain new customers and increase its share in both physical and digital channels.

“I think the fact that we’ve been able to grow something to the low double-digits year-to-date is a really encouraging sign about how our business is changing,” Rennie said.
