Alpaca has launched trading in German stocks through Deutsche Börse Xetra, allowing its broker partners to provide access to one of the largest stock markets in Europe. This development represents the first phase of the company’s broader plan to expand access to international equity markets.
The offering follows Alpaca’s European expansion announced in April. Company It has completed the acquisition of UK-based WealthKernelrenamed the company Alpaca Europe, and said it would begin offering international stocks starting with Deutsche Börse’s Xetra before adding other exchanges.
Xetra’s debut precedes a broader stock exchange rollout
Through the integration, broker partners can offer trading in hundreds of companies listed in Germany, including SAP, Siemens, Allianz, BMW, Deutsche Bank, Adidas and Bayer. The companies span sectors such as technology, manufacturing, financial services and healthcare.
Additional exchanges are expected in the coming months, the company said. Planned markets include the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, the London Stock Exchange, the Saudi Stock Exchange, Euronext Paris, and the Korea Stock Exchange.
Investors “increasingly expect access beyond U.S. markets,” said Yoshi Yokokawa, co-founder and CEO of Alpaca. He added that Germany is a “natural starting point” for the company’s expansion into global stocks.
German stock token planned through infrastructure
German stocks are now available through Alpaca platform. The company also said it plans to support tokenized German stocks using the same brokerage infrastructure that currently supports tokenized stock offerings.
Alpaca said the latest release supports its strategy to connect traditional financial markets, token assets and AI-based financial services through a single brokerage infrastructure. The platform is designed for financial institutions, fintech companies, digital asset platforms and embedded investment service providers.
Commenting on the launch, Michael Krugman, Head of Money Market Business Development at Deutsche Börse, said Xetra is the “first European exchange” in the Alpaca International Equities Initiative and will provide its partner network with “deep liquidity and best execution”.
