Cardano Lace wallet update arrives with Van Rossem fork

Cardano’s Web3 Lace wallet has received new updates as the network prepares for the Van Rossem hard fork.

summary

  • Lace 2.0.3 Fixed migration issues, DApp connection, uploading and legacy wallet.
  • Lace 2.0.4 added display mode options, auto-lock settings, and language fixes.
  • Cardano’s Van Rossem hard fork is targeting version 11 of the protocol in late June.

The latest wallet 2.0 Versions Focus on smoother migration, better access to decentralized applications, and easier wallet use.

Lace 2.0 combines Cardano, Midnight, and Bitcoin into a single wallet interface. The update aims to reduce the need for users to move between separate wallets when managing assets across ecosystems.

Lace versions 2.0.3 and 2.0.4 improve user accessibility

Lace 2.0.3 fixed a white screen issue that prevented some users from completing the migration or connecting to decentralized applications. An issue affecting some old wallets imported from Nami has also been fixed.

Lace 2.0.4 added a virtual display mode, allowing users to switch between the side panel and the tab. It also introduced an auto-lock timer and fixed missing Spanish and Japanese translations.

Furthermore, Cardano is preparing a Van Rossem hard fork, an in-epoch upgrade to version 11 of the protocol. The upgrade is expected to improve Plutus’ performance, ledger consistency, and contract-level security.

Cardano Node pre-release 11.0.1 is required to safely cross the hard fork. Equity pool operators and developers in the preview have been asked to upgrade before the mainnet step.

Network upgrade avoids major outages

Van Rossem’s upgrade does not move Cardano into a new era. This is important because transaction formats remain unchanged, reducing work for wallets, decentralized applications, and exchanges.

“Late June 2026” remains the date to watch, but the rollout still depends on preparedness and governance steps.
