Anthropic and Google Google is investing $40 billion in the artificial intelligence startup to support its continued growth, the company confirmed on Friday (April 24).
Google invested $10 billion on Friday at Anthropic’s current valuation and plans to invest another $30 billion in the future, contingent on meeting performance milestones, Anthropic told PYMNTS.
Google has been a strategic partner and minority investor in Anthropic for several years, and Anthropic has recently expanded its use of TPU chips and Google Cloud The services, with a capacity of 5 gigawatts, will come online starting in 2027, according to Anthropic.
Bloomberg I mentioned Earlier Friday, Google invested the initial $10 billion announced on Friday at a valuation of $350 billion, the same valuation it achieved in a funding round in February.

The two companies also announced an expanded partnership in which Anthropic committed to spending more than $100 billion over the next 10 years on Amazon Web Services AWS customers, including Trainium and Graviton devices, and AWS customers will have access to the full native Claude human console from within AWS.

“Our collaboration with Amazon will allow us to further advance AI research while bringing Claude to our customers, including more than 100,000 builds on AWS,” Amodei said.
On April 6, Anthropic announced that it had signed a new agreement deal With Google and Broadcom That’s several gigawatts of TPU capacity that the AI startup expects to come online in 2027.
